Dave Roth: That Wasn't Me

A Cadanian newspaper reports that the Ontario police officers who believed that they had pulled Van Halen's David Lee Roth over in May and saved him in the midst of an anaphylactic episode were duped -- by a dupe. The impersonator had everyone fooled, from the police to the medical personnel.

Roth's publicist, though, says that he was in New York performing with the band that night and couldn't have been in Ontario:

"The story is completely false," David Lee Roth's personal publicist, Elaine Schock, said this week from her Los Angeles office. "I don't even understand where that came from. David doesn't drive himself. He has a driver. And he doesn't dress flashy unless he's onstage."

It makes sense. If Roth truly was allergic to nuts, he would've had a reaction to his bandmates a long time ago.
